DESCRIPTION:The Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park staff continues with more “Pop-up Walks”   This one in Franklin Township at Colonial Park.  Here’s some of what their website says: \n\n\n\n\nThe roses at Colonial Park Garden in Somerset are in bloom! Are you free for a few hours on THURSDAY\, MAY 28TH for a morning walk? If so then mark your calendar and join our seasonal historian to enjoy these beautiful late spring blossoms. Afterward the group will walk the D&R Canal towpath to East Millstone where you will see the bridge tender’s house and station that is located here. The group will also be introduced to the town’s colonial\, Revolutionary War\, canal\, railroad and manufacturing history as well as its tie to Colonial Park. This will be a leisurely outdoor program so plan to be with us a few hours……. Inclement weather will cancel this walk. Although the five canal-side houses haven’t moved since 1835\, you need to drive\, ride\, or briskly hike along the canal to visit all five of them.
