About Our Speaker:

The Kingston Historical Society features an annual meeting speaker, Markus McParland, author of “Community Collection for Kingston, NJ”

Markus was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He has lived in the Chicago area, Sarasota, and now Kingston New Jersey where he attended YinHua International School on Laurel Avenue in Kingston.

He will be speaking on his remarkable first book, 569 pages of Kingston people, places and events.

Books will be available for purchase and autograph ($80 Hardcover, $70 Softcover)

Attending Meeting and Talk:

The KHS Annual Meeting is being offered as a “Hybrid” event. You may attend in person or attend via web meeting. Web attendance requires prior registration (see below.)

This event will be recorded. If you attend in person, you agree that your image may be recorded and made available on the Internet. If you attend via Zoom, and do not use a microphone or camera, you will not be recorded.

An edited recording of portions of the presentation will be available via this website following the talk.

To Attend in Person at the Firehouse:

The presentation will be at the Kingston Firehouse, 8 Heathcote Road (also known as Heathcote Brook Road) in Kingston, NJ 08528.

Attending at the Firehouse does not require registration. We will pass around a sign-in sheet during the event. In case of bad weather, please check this webpage before the event for any updates.

Note that the Firehouse is not wheelchair accessible.

Parking and Public Transit

Please do not park in front of or beside the fire station. The Firehouse is a short walk from parking on Main Street (Route 27) and also Euclid Ave. There is no parking on Heathcote Road. There may be a few parking spots directly behind the Firehouse.

Suburban Transit’s Princeton route stops at the corner of Heathcote/Laurel and Main Street.

How zoom registration works:

The registration will ask your name an email address. After registering, you will receive a confirmation sent to your email address containing a link and information about ways to use to join our meeting and talk.

Access to the meeting begins at 7:15 PM, fifteen minutes before the meeting starts. Please mute your audio and video during the presentation.
